Hey guys, I realized the strap that comes with Canon DSLR's are a bit too short so you either have to put it around your neck and let your camera bounce on your tummy or swing it around your shoulder like a purse. Aside from the Black Rapid straps, are there any cheaper alternatives to over the shoulder straps that goes across your chest ?

Look at the Wapiti strap just one of the best money can buy. It's rather narrow but with the Elk hide it's soft and I found it to be one of the best. Also you can custom order the strap to the length you want. I ordered one 47 inches long and I might add I have owned them all Lowepro, Domke and IMO this is the best

www.wapitistraps.com (external link) I like this strap so much that I have ordered a new model that is not on the site but it comes with a QR system should have it Monday and the owner is a great guy to deal with

I've heard good things about the Optech strap and you can even get a POTN version from the POTN store :)

I've also been eyeing the Luma Loop lately but it's OOS and I worry too few have it/too few reviews...

the pro loop might be long enough but it depends on how tall you are, pro loop is 43" and the pro is 51"

kickstarter has a new(-ish) strap design called the split strap (external link) that has potential to be amazing

that said, it hasn't been released yet so no telling if it will be as good as promised but their other kickstarter project called the c-loop was pretty damned cool
