Sunset Cliffs Surf 1-05-11

I was able to sneak out of work to take a peak at the surf this past Wednesday. Unfortunately, I didn't pack my monopod or tripod but plenty of light shooting at noon.

Feedback is welcome and appreciated.

1. I jumped out of the car from the OB pier parking lot and shot handheld....really wish I had a monopod

6. La Jolla Wind n Sea in the PM right at sunset - the photographer in the water had a flash and would like to see the pictures he got as there were some guys ripping

Nice looks! Even though there isn't much action going on in the shot, I like #2 a lot. Too bad they got really grainy when you started to crank up the ISO. That lighting must have been tough to shoot with.

The kelp beds really help in keeping it glassier as OB already had texture by noon. I look forward to taking out the 1D MKII as the noise handling is quite a bit better than my 20D.

think the 1st is my fav, pitty it looks a liitle soft. may just be dow to the compression though.

I like the opposite of that feeling when I think I took a dud on the camera screen only to find out that it's a gem after downloading and viewing it on my computer.
