Thanks tupe and Airdale1. The butterfly stayed for so long that people were coming up to look at it. In the end, I had to coax it onto my daughter's hand so that I could go and take more photos.

Great captures of a beautiful butterfly. I had to ask my friend to take the picture when one landed on my wrist couple of months ago. SLR is just to heavy to single-hand hold.

both are lovely shots and a real "moment " for you i'll bet :)

i've never seen a butterfly like this in Scotland (was it in the wild?)
