Here are some of the better pictures I've taken in the first 4months owning the camera. What do ya think?

#4 is my fav, although I'd crop a bit off the bottom...too much carpet, not enough dog!

#1 is a very creative concept, but the background is quite busy. I wonder if darkening just that part of the image might help. #3 is amusing and sweet -- looks like he as gotten hold of a cocktail glass. You might title it "Booze Hound." :)

#1 i agree is a very nice composition. the corks in the water adds a nice addition to the image. # 4 also is a nice shot but also agree with less carpet and more dog

thanks for the comments so far, I will try to darken the background a bit in photoshop.

As for the 3rd pic, that is actually a shot glass...scary to think he was that small 6months ago and is now 65lbs!

I gave it a try here and thought it really made the bottle stand out. That puppy is so cute, didn't realize he was so tiny in that image.

First is nicely composed.
Love the boxers! But the crops miss for me.

I actually didn't crop any of these, they are straight from the camera with the usual sharpening, sat, contrast adjustments.

Rimmer: I think you might have forgot to post the link

Very sorry for the confusion. :o I think I was just speaking colloquially; when I said "here" I just meant "where I am" rather than trying to point to a file location.

I didn't think it right to show my work since you haven't allowed image editing, but I can do so if you wish.

(I'll need to redo it, since I didn't save the edit.)

So, I still think #1 is a very clever, creative shot. Darkening the background makes the bottle stand out more and de-emphasizes the background while retaining the complementary greens and tans.

very nice Rimmer...for whatever reason I seem to have it stuck in my head that PP editing other than sharpness/contrast/saturation is like "cheating". I guess there are probably lots of "professional" photos that are edited in that way though.
