I was about to buy this, but I was second guessing myself the whole way through, and was wondering if anyone has this tripod. I'm looking at it for a small one to carry in my bag, but I want to know if it will support a 1D3 and a 24-70mm. Maybe a 70-200mm f/2.8 IS? Sure it is only 30 bucks, but I don't want to all of sudden to snap on me in field. It is only "rated" to 3.3 pounds, and I think the set up I want to shoot with spur of the moment is clearly more than that...

Thanks for the help.

How about Joby focus? I have no problem with 5D+70-200/2.8.

You won't have any problem with this tripod, if you want extra stability just keep the center column down, it will effectively have 4 legs then.

Here is a good review

Thank you for the link. The confidence I needed to click sent order.

I liked the Joby, but I'm still on edge on using something like that, I prefer a straight pair of legs until I get a chance to try the Joby Gorillapod.
