So I got to play with my new 50D finally :D (( This is my son and daddy is deploying soon hence the flag he wanted to see what it'd look like)). My main concern is the lighting does it look ok ??

I would like to see the flag a little brighter, but other than that, its a nice picture.

Typical boy he hates when I use him as my model so I was surprised I got this one. - thanks next time i' 'll use both my lights instead of just one

Very nice! I like the expression, the pose, and the composition. It's a tad underexposed. I adjusted curves
and used Portraiture to even out skin tones a bit and brighten the face.

It looks great, but it is indeed a bit underexposed. It's funny...I just did a similar shot recently of my one year old:
