Yeh, but that is a fairly large drawback. I have the 7D and it is a very complete camera...but when it come to making large landscapes photos ( 24" and up ), it's crop sensor comes to the forefront. I've shot it against the 5D2 and when printing big, the 7D stays in the bag. Great for sports or small photos, but not when big detail is involved.

For me, the crop sensor is a big limitation of the 7D.

The 5d2's resolution with good glass is definitely impressive.

I took this on the 5d2 with my 200 f/2.8 mkI @ f/2.8 and I just had it printed at 24" on metallic paper and the detail is amazing.....

From a chip-design perspective, multicore is more complex.
From a camera-design perspective, multi-cpu is, no matter how many. :p

I don't care which is more complex for which scenario. It's irrelevant. I just want balls out number crunching ninja skills. Give me 1 single or 2 quads, I don't care. Just hit 10FPS at FF for about 1,000 raw pics. How hard is that? :)

Then you might run into I/O problems. That could be 300MB/s at current sensor resolutions. 30GB Buffer anyone?

Sounds about $10,000 hard. 800x udma card included.

Right now, for ME, I am waiting for canon's next new full frame body to jump from my 1ds. I have a 14mm 2.8 lens that I want to get my money's worth from, and on a crop body, I lose that great wide angle. I'm venturing into real estate shots and it is a really terrific lens for that purpose.

Depends on the sensor resolution. :P

24mp @ 10fps should be easily achievable, but the buffer size would be smaller because of cost constraints.

Well 4k cameras manage 8mp at 30/60fps and Canon has managed something like 100mp at 5fps, so it's all possible but it's just down to cost.

That new Casio (dual core) I mentioned above can do 30 10MP frames at a speed of 40fps. That's JPEGs of course, but still probably 4-5MB x 30 in 0.75 secs. That's in a pocket camera. I think we have the power.

I don't beleive the cost contraint argument as we are talking about 4000-7000 dollar cameras. Spend an extra couple hundred each for CPUs and RAM and nobody will notice. Make the new camera $5500 instead of 5000, but with double the frame rate for twice as long. Who will complain?
