I have probably 1,500 Kodachrome and Ektachrome slides from back in the day and I'm looking to have maybe 10% of the "keepers" scanned. I'm not interested in purchasing a dedicated slide scanner and those flat-bed slide scanner adapters aren't up to the quality I want.

Can anyone recommend a service that can produce good quality digital scans from slides?

ScanCafe will do the scanning for you. Their website lists the equipment they use [which includes some scanners that cost in the thousands". I believe you can discard 20% of what they scan [Used to be much higher].

+1 for ScanCafe. I have used them and have been very happy with the service and the product.
