Pic tells story. Not good shooting complete snow, WB may be way off. Hopefully the photo shows enough detail.

Tracks were very small. Don't think it was a rabbit ... maybe a chipmunk or other small ground dwelling critter. The neighborhood hawks are a well-fed bunch around here.

Oh wow, it most certainly tells a story! Very nicely spotted. Cool pic indeed.

Now that's a cool pic. I've tried to find a similar set but no luck yet.

thanks Davinor. My asute HS senior said 'poor squirrel' when he saw the image. I think he's right.

Thanks Levina. Sad sometimes, but considering how many times the hawks are unsuccessful, they have to succeed on occasion. Nice that the lighting was good enough to show detail and tell the story.

Lucky. Right off the deck about 30' from the house.

Thanks Mike. I see evidence of a splashdown by hawks around the feeders now and then but nothing like the tracks disappearing and wing imprints in the snow. Couldn't pass up the shot!

It shows the story well. Just another fact of life. A good reminder about the real world.

Wow that's a cool find. The wing imprints are just amazing. One could search their whole life and not find something like this. Score!

Catching that kind of an imprint is really cool!

Looks like it was the end of the line for whatever critter it was, and I emphasize was. ;)

That is a really unique shot.

Each feather in the edge of the wing made an impression!
Would love to see that part a little closer.
