I've always sort of wanted it but always just... glossed over it. I suppose it's not a big deal but I also think it's super easy and would be useful!

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to put a comment/description on a folder within Lightroom? Same with a collection.

If it were a trip, you could write the dates you went.. who you went with.. the company/hotel, etc. etc... Just an overview of the collection!

Flickr has "sets" and you can type a description for a set... would love to have something like that within lightroom!

It's not something built in to system properties for folders, so it would have to be in Collections (like what you're describing about Aperture). Try going into the Lightroom Users forum and suggesting it as a Feature Request?

You can give folders very long descriptive names, I stopped counting after 200 characters, that will appear in Explorer (and I presume Finder) but LR will only display the first 80 characters in the left side Library panel. Still, you can write quite a bit in 80 characters.
