I must have moved or deleted files. They are still visible in LR and in there folders but they say "The file named xyz is offline or missing". Is there a way to recover these files? It's odd they are viewable and I can zoom/crop in on them but can't edit or export them. Again, any way to duplicate or recoop them? Thanks and I hope I explained this issue correctly.. John

I must have moved or deleted files.

If you merely moved the files, that's no problem. Once you have found where you moved them to - with a system search for .CR2 files - right click on the question mark on the highest ranked folder among the missing folders and inform LR where it is. If they are deleted then your CR2s are gone. What you are seeing now are the previews LR made previously. They can be extracted as jpgs (probably of lower resolution) with this freeware: http://basepath.com …ngester/LRViewer-info.php (external link), so it is not a total loss.

The images (and previews) are still in the catalog. That explains why you can still see them.
You probably deleted (or moved) the CR2 files outside of LR?

If you moved them, you can point LR to where they are, by clicking the question mark icon on the thumbnail.

If you deleted them off your HDD, you'd need some kind of recovery software (do not write to that HDD until you recovered the images!)

Good luck!

Thanks so much. They were gone but I only needed to recover around 20 files so jpeg was good enough. Thanks again, john
