I've noticed that some of the filters I'm looking have the word "digital" in the title. These cost more than standard, do they do anything different?

Any ideas?

Cheers
Jane

Jane,

Differences in filter prices are mostly caused by different coatings (apart from the size of the filter, the brand name, the vendor, etc).

"Standard" filters, while being cheaper, can degrade the image more than "Multi-coated" filters.

So look for MC, like HTMC in your example, shell out some more money, and get better results. The "digital" in your example refers to the silver color to match "digital" equipment (that's what it says) but has nothing to do with the intended usage of the filter.

Ah, fantastic, so the digital bit was a red herring

Thanks
