I think the composition is good, if i were to be REALLY picky i would say that there should have been a BIT more sky to the left of hte plane to give it the feeling of motion, but it works for me as is.

as far as lighting... i think it either needs to go darker to drown out the colors in the plain, or it needs to get brighter, because right now for me its sorta in between. The background is on the money though

Is it too dark?

Maybe a tiny bit, but I like it as it is.

it is just a liiiiiittle dark, but it still gets the thumbs up from me. i like it!

Too dark...you could bring some detail out in those 'lowlights' and still have the 'dusk' feel to the composition.
After all, your plane takes up the majority of your frame...it's not like a smaller, distant silhouette on the horizon, eh! :)

Crop / Framing is a tad tight IMO. Hate to not see more of that glorious background.
