Hi everyone -

September through January 1st is hunting season here in the Midwest so photography usually takes a back seat for me - my dogs and I put about 5000 miles on the truck this year in pursuit of Pheasants.

My camera still comes with and now that the season is over, Ive finally had a chance to do some post processing - feels good to post here again after so long!

Ive got many more in the "vault", but these are some of my favorite landscapes from ND/SD during th 2010 hunting season. Enjoy!

Nice! Makes me homesick (I grew up in Nebraska).

Desolate, yes, but also Beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

And from the looks of the last photo, you and your dogs must have had a very good season! I remember growing up in upstate NY. My beagle and I would almost always run into a couple of ringnecks. Not so anymore.

All I want is just a little more than I'll ever have.

Thanks everyone.

You know, its interesting what you say about missing vs. not missing the prairie if you grew up there. I never thought the prairie was very interesting when I first started pheasant hunting. I was totally un-impressed with the landscape in the plains because I thought it was flat and boring. Now, I really enjoy it and as I spend more time out there, I start to notice the subtleties about the land that make it interesting. Its quickly becoming one of my favorite places to be, and I live on the North Shore of Lake Superior.
