Ok i have already one of those cowboystudios small 45 watt stobe kits from Amazon that i bought about 1 year ago for like 100 bucks ....they have paid their dues and it's time to move up ......

I am planning on getting
1) Flashpoint II 320M Monolight Kit for $144 , it comes with a 10' Air Cushioned Light Stand and 24" x 36" Softbox , i want to use this a a main light and use old lights as fill and hair.....

Now the reason i would like to get the Flashpoint is becasue i read that they are Adorama house brand and get good reviews online ( Here on the forum too ) but my question is since this is 150 watt lights does this translate to 2 stops more power of light at the same distance or 4 stops ? ( I have read alot these days about Depth of flash exposure and The Inverse Square Law but i get confused since i and thinking of it backwards )

Also the reason i want the Flashpoint is because the Flashpoint II D/C Battery Power Pack is in a good price range that i see getting in the future.

But i would really like some input on

1 the Flashpoint line and products from you guys
2 the Flashpoint II D/C Battery Power Pack info , is it good , will it last , etc
3 the whole 45 watt to 150 watt f/stop thing

thanks Guys ....

By the way ..... THIS FORUM ROCKS .............even if there are some PIXEL-PEEPERS up in here jajajajajajaajajaja

Should be a 1.5 stop difference.

For an entry level strobe I think the Calumet Genesis is the best option but it appears they are on backorder and could take months to fulfill. The 200 would provide a 2 stop difference over the cowboystudio. I've heard that the Flashpoint power pack is under powered and you're better off with a Vagabond. But for the money that looks like a good kit.

Ok what about these 2

Flashpoint II 620M it's 300 watts @ $189 or the Cowboystudio 400 Watt Second @ $145

Cowboystudio gets from good to bad reviews .......so it's like flipping a coin with them

I have 2 - Flashpoint 620s and 3 flashpoint 320s. I am completely satisfied. They work great. I also have umbrellas, softboxes and beauty dish for them. I purchased the 2 light wedding kit (620s) with a nice padded case included. Did the same with the 320 wedding kit. Recently purchased another 320 with a stand and softbox for around $140.

I just did a corporate headshot gig yesterday. Shots came out great. I trigger everything with pocket wizards and also let the lights slave off of each other, just because...
