thanks buds, they wanted me to take photos that were colorful soothing and pleasing that would draw and invite viewers to want to go to the club. and it sounds like it did the trick.

Dwight I did HDR's pretty much all-night, with the one exception of this panoramic (you can see the blown out areas at the top). You can see more views on my flickr, if you like.

Been doing physiograms after seeing it in this thread. My initial attempt was hanging a small flashlight from the ceiling fan in my office, but it wasn't dark enough in the room so I switched to the garage. I'm using one of my green lasers and I have the 50D and Sig 18-200mm OS on the tripod, set as high as the tripod will go and aimed down onto the floor, don't want the laser to fry the sensor. I also setup the 40D and Nifty Fifty and aimed that up towards the laser at an angle. The whole set (what I have so far) can be seen here...Physiograms (external link)...and thanks to Blazeneon for posting.

No sensor damage from the laser?

No, one setup is aimed at the floor so the light can't get in, the other setup is at an angle and far enough away that the light can't get in. I'm shooting the dot on the floor with one setup and the tip of the laser with the other. The setup to shoot the tip is shooting at a steep enough angle that no matter how much I swing the laser the beam won't directly hit the sensor.

Really cool, going to have to try it as well. It's a shame that the second and third one have the screwed up bit on the right as they're my favourite patterns. How come the first one is green in places? Looks pretty good.

I don't have quite enough room between the weight machine, elliptical and where I'm shooting to keep the edges totally clean. A lot of the shots either have something on the side cutting the lines or the expansion groove in the floor does it. Either way, if I had a larger space I could do a lot better.

Can't do it in the house because the dog goes nuts chasing the laser, and I'd have to wait for night so the living room was dark. But, the living room floor would be perfect, plenty of space in there.

The first one was actually brown and blue, the main being brown and the streaks blue. The gel I was using was brownish, and I didn't quite cover the whole light. So, the brown (blue in the shot) lit the main lines, and the uncovered light (was blue in the original) gave the extra streaks. I changes the colors in post to blue and green.

I apologize - that was not the way the camera was pointing to take the shot - I just wanted to show the lens. for the shot I had it mounted on a tripod. I just wanted to add some more content in here.

the lens technically is an integral part of the setup, right. just to a different degree.
