They do. But not to the camera's "eye". :) That's when Mike comes into play. ;)

Mike needs to do more in showing the setup. The point of this thread is not to show how awesome you can make a house look. The point is to show HOW you made it look that awesome through showing the setup.

The reason why people are laughing is because Mike does an extensive showing of HOW it is done, apart from a picture with him on a ladder, he does youtube videos of the actual post process.

Dude you're seriously ruining my dream that houses look like that on their own.

I usually tell clients that "the eye is a miracle, the camera is a machine." Because there is no way to capture what something like this ACTUALLY looks like without extensive post processing.

If I see one more post like this I'm going to lose it haha. I've done entire videos that show literally every single detail that go into one of these shoots, maybe one or two pages back at 50ppp.

Thanks GC! I even mentioned previously that I'd like to show more 'setup' style shots but sometimes they are not available, and I do think that people can still learn quite a bit from the before/after. I mean I could photoshop a camera on a tripod into these pics and all of a sudden they'd be okay, so just imagine that there is a camera on a tripod there and we'll be good

I'm curious Mike - I know your work involves a lot of blending and Photoshop wizardry to merge images together. Have you ever tried your technique using film (long exposure and covering the lens while moving the flash around)?

Dave - I have not but I've often thought about it. I think the slightly increased dynamic range of film would let me get away with a bit more so it is totally a plausible technique. Would love to try some day. I have some old canon eos film bodies that I could try it out with, too, but would have to find the right subject matter of course :) Probably wouldn't get paid for it, but it would be a fun test.

You should get on that. I for one would love to see the results :D.

Interesting idea. I could see doing this with my Pentax K1000. All manual! That would be fun!

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.

I want to try some multiple exposure flash photography with my Bronica next. It's going to be a riot :D.

Can you still see out of that eye? It looks like youd be seeing blindy lights for hours.
