Let the whiners whine rather than watch Mike's amazing videos ... kinda like chastity being its own punishment! And I thank whoever it was who asked Mike about flash exposure control ... I was wondering, too. I am planning to do some of these architectural shots using a 580EX II in a small BD on a pole controlled by a TT5. Then have a TT5 on camera on tripod. And I guess I'll also need a TT1 or TT5 in hand to trigger the camera that will trigger the flash. If/when I get to this I will get pictures of the equipment setup ... but I don't want the whiners to see it so I may post it on YouTube and just put a link in here! (j/k about the YouTube part, but the whining is really shrill in my ears!)

I did it... No regrets... Yet

But tomorrow's wedding in a crappy-lit church will be a true test. I'm interested to see how high-ISO performance is against the 5D in real-life situations.

If I remember correctly the 7D (and thus the 60D) are very similar to the 5D classic in terms of noise performance.

Yeah, I saw this in reviews and various tests... that was the selling point for me; I am excited to see how well it does for me IRL vs the tests.

Collecting my 5D box, original cables, software, Manuals, etc. as we speak. Nick, your RL review may just be the tipping point. Anyone interested in a 5D with mirror recall done and brand new sensor?

I'll take pretty much anything for free.

EDIT: Just read that again, a new sensor?

Yep; sent it to canon for the mirror recall repair and evidently they messed up the sensor so they replaced it. Now it's like new.

And yes, it's free but the S/H is $1200  Seriously though, if anyone is interested, I have the body, all original software, manuals, cables, etc. plus 3-4 batteries, 4 CF cards,

Can i ask, what have you used for your flash to hotshoe connection, that looks quite handy.

Oh, that's not a special bracket, there's a Rf-602 transmitter on the hot shoe and the receiver is on the flash. Flash is lying on it's bottom on the transmitter.

Only fear was holding it from falling down, I'm glad I have a steady tripod ;)

Looks a good setup for macro work, there must be a way of securing it with some elastic bands or similar

Think I will have a look into it with mine
