That, by itself, is not a good starting point to compare sharpness! ![]() True LOL... Artist tools: Lumix FZ1000 (Canon 60D, 28/2.8, 10-22mm, Tamron 28-300mm VC ALL NOW FOR SALE - REASONABLE OFFER)

Doesn't have to be an L to be sharp show me a MFT to back that up The things you do for yourself die with you, the things you do for others live forever.

I think both would compare favorably with my (ex) 70-200 and 17-40, both of which were L lens. Of the lenses I currently own, I would not say any of them is tack sharp. Maybe the nifty fifty, but I rarely use that one as I can't always get as close as I want to be to a subject. Charles

The L has a very slight edge on the non-L, but the difference isn't enough to say that the non-L is not sharp. Some other comparisons.... http://www.the-digital-picture.com …omp=0&FLIComp=0&APIComp=0 http://www.the-digital-picture.com …omp=0&FLIComp=0&APIComp=0 http://www.the-digital-picture.com …omp=0&FLIComp=0&APIComp=0 Thank you for this! Oct 19, 2011 11:42 | #2444 The Setup. Not the first type this sort of setup has been shown here. But I wanted to share regardless. Here is a shot of the camera gear used. Clicking the image will take you to an article that explains all the components.
This image gives you an idea what the final setup would be.
Here is what the final image looks like. This was taken at a 10.5:1 magnification. 167 images were captured and stacked to create a depth of view of around 1.27mm (0.05"). The scale in the top left gives you an idea how small this spider is. The camera was incremented around 0.0076mm (0.0003") for each shot. In this particular shot I used three LED desk lamps for illumination. The subject was propped onto a small leaf. And a green card was used as the background.
CheerS! I'm in Canada. Isn't that weird!
