Take one Suzuki 650cc VStrom, bolt a ball head to where the passenger footrest is normally mounted, and attach a camera with fisheye.

The off camera 600EX-RT speedlight is strapped to the pillion seat and triggered with ST-E3_RT wireless transmitter in ETTL mode and HSS. Camera is released via remote cable from a button ziptied to the handle bars.

Set lens on manual focus @ infinity, and camera on AV @ F5.6 so you can be pretty sure the shots will be in focus.

Take a big breath, 2 tranquilisers, then go ride and play.

This is what you can expect from it. Check the super cool texture of the road surface as it is blurred toward the outside of the focus area.

I should probably have removed the flock of birds.

The one real advantage I forgot to mention about this setup is that I no longer have another photographer on the back of the bike screaming like a stuck pig every time I go around a corner. Anyway, two more by popular demand:)

This one was taken with a crazy slow shutter speed, and is pretty funky.
Adjusting my speed to that of the rider made the shot quite useable.(sellable)

Gaarryy, it was the Western Province Duathlon champs in Cape Town South Africa. They are held at the Killarney Motor Racing track which is great to go play on a motorbike while 'shooting' the athletes.
The only drawback is that you have to stop and readjust camera position to get a different type of shot. I'm working on a remote pan and tilt system, working thorough live view and a 7inch android tablet on the handlebars though.

Those fisheye cycling shots are great. Just one suggestion for a minor improvement would be to switch to second-curtain flash. That way the blur would appear to follow the flash-frozen image. Great idea and execution though.

Mark.
