Is anybody else bothered by these posts of the general form "camera on a tripod...landscape shot"?

Not at all...I actually really like them. Let's get this back on topic.

Agreed, the last page had no setup and result photos...
I for one am very interested in any setup shot, as a beginner I do like to see them as it helps me understand how the shot was achieved. Just because I'm no seasoned photog who knows everything, I say keep em coming. It's all about helping :)

Maybe next time a do a city shot i'll bring a few external flashes, deflectors, a model to pose by the camera and take a photo of that ;)

My take on the setup shots only involving a tripod....I would be happier if there were at least some exposure settings given, or explain the use of a filter and why you chose it. Stuff like that. Sometimes the tripod is the only other thing used in a setup, but I think sharing how it was shot would be helpful.

Agree. I don't think it is so much the camera on a tripod shots actually being IN the thread for me as it is the lack of other more interesting setups.

'That said here is a recent setup/result from one of my 365 project shots.

Yes...I thought about that, but I was tired and I couldn't get him positioned with the axe down that I could see it in the shot to my liking. I decided I should have had them on opposite sides, but didn't feel like moving everything so I just went with what I had.

No I mean when I was doing this and didn't think of the turn the axe around idea. I guess I tend to over complicate things at times.

But yeah I have seen you on the other thread...good stuff.
