Aye it took me quite a while to work and save up till I got them. Very happy that I work with great equipment I can call my own :)

Just looked at the youtube vid. I like the slow motion shots. Man...that dude likes coffee! Lol!

The number of people who I see monitoring sound with a pair of those horrendous Apple Ear Buds... *sigh*

Anyways, nice set-up. I am SUPER jealous!

Yeah that was some serious passion there. I didn't even coax him into showing drama but I guess it's in his nature haha.

My thoughts exactly. I was personally supposed t monitor with my own earsonics sm3 which would be gross to share. My mate there told me not to bring my other proper headphones...

I think one of the funniest parts about it is someone spends all this money on filming gear, but can't put out some more for a good pair of earbuds/headphones?

Srobes idk what brand u can see the key light on the first pic and there is one in the back right next to the backdrop plus a reflector on the left not pictured.

we used a piece of scrap seamless paper over the vinyl backdrop on the floor.. when the shoot was over all we did was roll it and trash it.As for the baby.. well the parents cleaned him up and we ate some cake when the shoot was over lol.

Yeah it's quite surprising when I see other filmmakers without proper 'buds. My mate there (the soundman) told me not to bring anything and showed up with those haha. But like I said, I got myself a proper earsonics sm3 (one of the best universal IEMs I've had so far!) which work perfectly fine if I'm monitoring audio on my own.

...which also explains why my soundman didn't detect the hum / rumble from the high-pitched aircon on location, thus the weird background noise. Definitely shot myself in the foot there for not having proper backups

Ouch! That's a total bummer. I don't have anything fancy, personally, except a pair of Klipsch S4s... if I'm going for that cut-off-from-environment, I'd just use my sennheiser cans anyway...

hi, i love this thread and i follow it for some time now, but i almost never participate... =/

I have just wrote a little tutorial about a Light Painting i made (you can read it HERE (external link)) and one of the photos has a kind of "before and after", so i thought i would post it here...

We stacked 5 separate photos to create that final Light Painted image. It was actually lot of fun to do it! ;)

I would love to know what you think about it

(The photo is too big, how can i get it smaller here in the forum?)

Great Job dabert, and it really outlines what the right equipment and technique can accomplish over a camera phone. Someone should share with the Chicago Sun-Times
