try with a slower shutter speed, then. I'm not sure what the frequency is that they flicker at, but try some test shots at different speeds to see what happens. It should be just like the flicker of older-style fluorescent lights.

Normally LED flicker up to 100 KHz range and cheaper versions connected to a wall-socket flicker at 60Hz or 50Hz so clearly visible to cameras.

I assume in cars a frequency is used that is also below 100 Hz.

I used the LED light tape I bought off Amazon

I wonder if the 7D2 anti-flicker setting would fix this?

I think most LEDs flicker, you see it alot in new car videos. If you maker your shutter longer than the on/off cycle of the LED it shouldn't show.

1/50 should do it.

Re. flickering LEDs: It depends on how they are fed. LEDs are "light emitting diodes" So they work only with DC. If that is DC from a battery they won't flicker. If that is DC converted/recitfied from AC it depends wether there is a buffer capacitor included in the circuit. For home brewers that use wall warts to feed the leds it might be helpful to include a reasonably large (1,000/10,000mF) electrolytic capacitor in the circuit the get rid of the flicker.
Although car leds are fed from a battery they still flickr because the circuit that powers the leds converts the car battery voltage to that suitable for the leds in a "pulsing" manner. The same happens for other "power" leds. But the strips you can buy don't have a circuit built in like that so won't flicker when fed by a battery or buffered rectifier.

Only thing I don't like is the reflection of the stand/reflector in the hopper

I completely agree. This was a very quick and dirty shoot and edit. I'm planning on going back and shooting it again when time permits, I didn't really get the look I wanted to our of it. I could also easily go.back and edit that reflection out, too.
