Yongnuo's have been known to have variations in color balance. I still have a couple of the original YN-560's with the LED lights on the back. Some people have had to add gels to color correct one so it matched the other, etc.

That shot was last year so before I had the 360, it's all hodge podge speedlights: two very different YNs (one with LCD one without) an old Vivitar, and somewhere is a Cannon. Really, reall nice work with your bodybuilders. I've wanted to do similar work, so it's nice to see real-world examples.

jack880 Goldmember More info | Apr 13, 2016 17:44 | #9680 I got an empty fish tank, turned it on its side, and put an LED floodlight in it. Then I put a bit of paper on top, and a dead flower on top of that... End result: IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/G752iQ https://www.flickr.com/photos/jackhenriques/

Recently, I discovered Velázquez is even more extreme with hard light, and particularly contrast, in some of his work. I have been exploring light suppression in my white box of a studio while generating window light. First, one of my results: Then the setup: Subject is sandwiched between two 4x2 flags (seen edge on), with double scrim overhead to reduce hair illumination. Backdrop is black, of course. The single light with Profoto NarrowBeam dish is bouncing off foamcore for the window effect. Ref: Velázquez on Wikipedia Canon, Nikon, Contax, Leica, Sony, Profoto.

Nicely done! Contrasty lighting does indeed look like Caravaggio's portraits. http://www.twilightandtulle.com

Here's mine: My daughter's high school indoor percussion ensemble had their homeshow (where they host other schools) last Sunday and with their downtime, I was able to setup in the props garage with the following. Canon 6D with Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 tethered to laptop running Lightroom CC and external monitor Main light Neweer NW-985 set at 1/16 power and triggered by Yongnuo YN622C with 31" octobox and boom Secondary lights: Neewer TT-560 set at 1/32, camera left blue gel on reflective umbrella, camera right red gel on shoot through Background is 4'x6' black collapsible DJ smoke machine (pain in the rear because it would cool down after every few shots) between subject and secondary lights Camera settings 104mm, f/4.5, 1/160 sec., ISO 100 Hosted photo: posted by mhickman in ./showthread.php?p=17971841&i=i53273690 forum: Flash and Studio Lighting Hosted photo: posted by mhickman in ./showthread.php?p=17971841&i=i200822459 forum: Flash and Studio Lighting I've yet to pick one of these up myself, but have heard very good things regarding uses just like you have here. Nice shot btw. - Ken

Nice shot btw. http://www.filmtools.com/diffusionincan.html Thanks! It got to be a pain near the end too because I wasn't paying attention to how much smoke was in there and I didn't air out before a few shots. Live and learn, then reshoot. Canon EOS R6 • Canon EOS R
