I might adjust black level when I get back home in a few days, hard to tell on my laptop. I was a little closer to the side wall for fill. I set the flash to it's narrowest beem, 105mm I think. I also added the fancy snoot and had the light relatively close. When I shot the room was pitch dark. I try to make art by pushing buttons

Is it something done in post or is it a bruise? honestly it was my first time using the zoom li-on r2 and the ricebowl... Her makeup was kinda glossy and so it's a hot spot on her forehead. I tried to tone it down by pulling highlights but evidently didn't work out well. The skin releases oil which comes up. If you don't have a make-up artist on hand, You can keep a neutral powder handy. Or you can get these little sheets of paper which soak up the oil. Makes post-processing easier .I know it's best to get foreheads as oil-free in camera as possible, but I'm curious: anyone have any particularly clever ways of correcting shiny skin like this in Photoshop?

I tend to sample the adjacent non-shiny skin, then gradually paint with very low flow until the shininess is gone but the texture is still there. I know this is Not the "right" way to do it, but when I have 30 headshots to retouch that I had to do in a hot room... it's fairly quick. Any alternate suggestions? Owen. Frequency separation would allow you to fill the color and fix any texture lost due to overexposure. VanillaImaging.com
