Strangely, I just saw a PocketWizard Promo where the guy had three flashes on a bar with an umbrella. I think at that point I would have used a battery powered strobe.

Yep, more speedlights equals more light. They even sell a quad setup. Of course, that is $2000 for one light setup and that does not include stand, modifier or battery packs! No thanks, I can buy a set of AB1600s, modifiers and generator for that much money.

two speedlights to increase the light output?

Maybe also to reduce recycle time as you can have two at half the power of one strobe for the same output?

Why the stofens though? Aren't they just eating light if you're shooting into an umbrella anyways??

Some bodies, some lenses, and that's all I'll list in case the wife sees this. ;)

COPS Boxing Shoot

So, two of the girls from the COPS gym shoot: Cheyenne with green gloves and Lizz with pink gloves ... both minors for whom I have releases. Cheyenne is doing some modeling for me. Lizz has moved away, sigh.

Cheyenne needed just a little more DOF, the gloves are sharp, but she's a little soft.

I understand completely ... I will be working on Cheyenne's expressions to see if there is something basic we can change.

Yes, I was shooting very shallow, mostly because I was too busy/distracted running the shoot to realize it was an issue. The new shoot is much more f/10ish rather than f/4ish.

actually it was more to achieve even light spread across the umbrella. if i'm not mistaken i was running each speedlite at 1/16 power, while the background ones were running at 1/2 power
