it means they're not very sharp. If I had to guess, I'd say they're both out of focus.

Soft = not very sharp or clear.

You have good composition but your white balance seems to be very off. The first picture seems very yellow - however the 2nd picture is better. Do you remember what you had your White Balance set on? Auto by chance?

the first one looks like he tried a cross process technique in post. Maybe that's it. Second almost looks like lomo.

Ok got it on the sharp part...will work on that .......

on the White Balance the colors are off cause i tried some PP effects , seems it did not work cause all it looks like is Off White Balance ajajajajajajajaajajaja​a

PP techniques are tough. You have to make them look intentional, or it just looks like an accident. Keep trying them though. Don't give up just because someone didn't see what you were going for. Especially if it was just someone on the internet!

another thing I would mention, and it's strictly on her posing (not sure if it's hers or your direction) but try to avoid the duck face. She has it going on in both looks and to me is very distracting.

The second picture is better.
The pouty lips ruin pictures, also the hair is a bit overdone.

Were these shot in RAW or JPEG?
