So, i posted a few photos a week or so ago for some critique.
I have since shot more photos and i am looking again for some input.
My ultimate goal is to have good exposure, minimal blown hightlights and relatively interesting composition.

I think you've met your first two goals. Exposure looks good, things are in focus. But I have to say you need to work on composition. Both of these appear to be angles that if stood above something and looked down on the subject, which is the same old boring eye angle we see the world from every day. Although these are interesting objects, they make kind of boring subjects, especially in flat light. Try finding a new angle, some separation from the clutter, use depth of field to blur the boring parts perhaps.

Regarding composition, for the second one, a single lantern would make a better subject.

I am glad to hear that i have met atleast my 1st 2 major goals.
As far as compositon, that is something i am working on!

Funny you say that, i have several of those, however, i didn't post any of those.
