So I noticed this interesting product on ebay. (external link) Take a look at the 4th picture.

This would adapt your EF lens to a NEX/VG10 camera. Adapters do not give you aperture control or focus. This one gives aperture control (albeit not electronic). So just a few more steps and we could have both. I think it has potential.

Now I know no one cares. But think about the possibilities? First thing I thought of was how nice the EF50 1.8 is except for that nasty 5 blade aperture. This baby has 14 blades.

would that mean though that the fifty would have to always be shot wide open...i think most lenses would be hurt by the external aperture, as even after "stopping it down" you probably wouldn't gain any better image quality...

the thing i don't get is they are adding it onto what pocket sized cameras...what's the point of adding a huge lens to it...why not just carry the whole camera, and have AF/real aperture control...maybe i'm missing something though

probably for people who also like to use DoF adapters and 35mm lenses on pocket camcorders for shallow DoF - Sony will never make any "real" glass for the mirrorless cameras, so now you can use your favorites that you already have. I see the point, but don't think it will work terribly well.
