Had to go outside tonight for a test of my Canon EF 24mm F/1.4 mkII
What do you think? Is it worth the US$1500?

That view certainly is!! Great shot, great lens. Have you ever done a video of an aurora?

I could have done it tonight since it was so bright and with this new lens. But I shot 625 images tonight and will do a time lapse soon

After only one night of testing it I have to say that this is my sharpest lens. But it being a prime helps a lot

Last night it was really amazing. I actually packed and left before the aurora disappeared! We have had so much since Thursday that it helps for a while.
Also the activity is higher now than a year ago. And it will probably be even better next year. So I would book a trip where you can see the aurora

Depends on what you want to shoot? But this is an great wide angle lens. Will also be perfect for other low light conditions

Absolutely gorgeous. You will never regret buying wide prime L glass (especially the MkII versions). Look forward to seeing more.
