Overall, it's a nice shot, in my opinion! Hello, my name is Victor.

Jan 12, 2011 10:05 | #10 i set my main light at f8 and my background was giving me f16, i thought as long as the background was 2 stops over it would be perfect, thats what ive been told, how can i prevent the light spill but maintain the blown out background? would placing black boards or flags to the sides of the model work?

I'd just start by turning the power down on the background light. You dont need two stop more to make a white drop white. I dont know that flagging would work too well as the light if bouncing off the of the drop behind her and I dont know how you would flag that.

The eyes look very strained as if lazy/ cross eyed and the extra vissible veins aren't complimentary to the model. Whilst I respect your right to protect your image, the watermark is very intrusive and I can neither confirm nor deny the trigger finger comments due to this. I think there's a nice model there and an interesting germ of an idea but at this stage it just doesn't quite work.

Jan 12, 2011 14:21 | #14 points well taken, next time ill have to figure out a way to keep excess light off the model. i did use a meter and according to it, it should have been fine. guess i cant trust the meter as much as i do.

here is an additional sample where i tweaked the contrast, did some D&B to the skin, bumped the makeup a tad. does the post help it at all or is just a lost cause? i really dig the shot actually and want to give it a good go before i give up on it and start from scratch
