Majority of the 2010 in photos links I've seen have been from English-speaking countries. It would also be interesting to see photos taken by people who see the world from a slightly different viewpoint.

To start the thread here's year 2010 through the photographers of Finland's largest newspaper Helsingin Sanomat: (click Katso kooste below the photo to start the slideshow)

So can you give us links to the galleries and slideshows that photojournalists in your non-English speaking country have taken in 2010? While we might not be able to understand your language, many of the images are still understandable.

No other replies so I googled El Pais gallery that has photos both by Spanish and international photographers. Several of these photos would be too much for a similar American/British/Scandinavian publication.

But please post other galleries from non-English speaking countries.

I like the 3rd and 6th from the first link. Most of the pictures are fantastic in the 2nd link.:D

Since at least some people have looked at the photos, I'll still try to get this thread going:

Deutche Welle from Germany has 13 photos

Interesting to say that non-English speaking countries aren't being represented.

Most of the images posted in MSNBC's "Animal Tracks" and "Photos Of The Week" are from anywhere but the USofA. Especially "Animal Tracks" which seems to be almost exclusively images from European zoos.

And it is also depressing that a lot of the galleries I find from different countries are just repeating the same international photos as in every other country.

Country specific news galleries would be interesting but they are quite difficult to find for someone who doesn't know the local media and who doesn't speak the language well enough/at all.

This Year 2010 in Finland slideshow from Suomen Kuvalehti is better than the one in the first post.

From some events there really aren't any good photos but a year in photos must include all the major events. A photo of a people in a sauna is much more dramatic if you know that soon after the photo the other person was dead and the other severely burned.
