If I had the money to buy it, I'd drive to Boise to pick it up myself!

I'm going to be in Boise in a few days so I tried emailing the seller....came back as undeliverable.

I wouldnt do it unless it was a local meet. Similar condition glass sells for double that on the used market and any CPS member knows that and would never let it go for $2500. Even Adorama, B&H and KEH would give him more than that for it and they are out to turn a profit. 500 f4 in similar condition can be sold to KEH for $3100. This condition on the used market usually fetches somewhere in the $5K range.

It looks as if a Zimbabwan scammer copied a legitimate ad, pictures and all, and dropped the price by 50% in order to lure an unsuspecting buyer. I hope nobody gets taken...

Come on people, it's fake.

The craigslist part that says "Reply To: see below" then in the actual ad it has "Reply to: sale-8776j-rg56y67T8iATcraigslist​.org" is a dead giveaway. Rolling over the email address shows a gmail address.

The scammer copied the description and photos straight off the original ad. Original seller seems to have good history and rating on eBay - probably doesn't even know his ad was copied.

Buyer beware - if it seems too good to be true .......

Anyone else going to flag this one as fraud - listing is still active so there cannot be many flags against it yet.

Buyer Beware, checked this one out because it looked to good to be true. Ad started on Craigs list then went ebay secure trader. Hmmm. forwarded the the email to ebay security and they said most definitely a scam. google ebay secure trader and it will let you know its fraudelent.

I did a site search for the title :"CANON EF 500MM f4L IS" and found several ads from this seller & item accross the country, some of which were already flagged.

Anyone who is versed enough to know that CPS is, knows that 2500 $ is way to low.

I wish these scammers would make up a better story, like they were a pawn shop and needed to sell it ASAP and knew very little about camera lenses. Anything other than this tripe.
