Just received my new Canon 5D MarkII, 70-200 IS2.8 MarkII, BG-E6 and 580EX II,
My first impression is WOW, everything looks fantastic- beautiful- Canons build quality is just so nice.
This is the first 5D Mark II Ive seen in person, new for me is the flat finish, I like it, I am very happy to see the flash shoe is chrome, now putting the 580 on wont cause the paint chipped look on the shoe..
Turned the live view on to check it out and realized I have no idea what I'm doing.
The 70-200 look great. New to me is the locking lens hood as mentioned before in other post nice touch. Focus is very fast.

And just to note BH shipping was fast and packing was good.

The battery is charging, I need to read the manual some and then I be out to give it all a try.

Re: the 5D2, this was my exact reaction when I got my new 5D2, 1 week ago. That battery takes a couple of hours to charge from empty, which is, a great time to read the manual, as you say.

Congratulations.

Just received ... and realized I have no idea what I'm doing.

:D

That's funny... I distinctly recall feeling that way both times I got a new DSLR, but it's fun.

Great setup, enjoy it. And try not to be intimidated, it's not a difficult transition if you've shot with any of the Canon DSLR's before. It will definitely spoil you, I can't imagine going back to my T2i setup anymore.

Now go take some pictures! ;)

Congrats on the new lens and camera. With your existing equipment and the new stuff, you have a nice lineup and should have lots of fun.

*Now that some of the excitement has worn off, go back to your equipment list under your post and correct the spelling....;)

just a few of my thoughts...
