...and another one - "copy"
as in "is my copy of ..... lens sharp?"
Unless it's a counterfeit, it's not a copy.

why just the south we have our own born hoodies up north to!!
or were you just being pretentious !!!!, I'm offended to even consider you thought you have explisive rights to free articles ;-p

Got Neil mixed up with another POTNer who lives in Scotland....so "down south" meant anywhere south of the boarder'.
:p

And, can I add another couple?

"When using a fast aperture..."
There's no such thing!
""Why doesn't Canon just make (add any desirable feature of a camera or lens)....?"
Do people not go to school anymore? I mean, "just make" infers that dSLRs are as simple to make as a lego house!!!!

Can we add to this... Should I go Canon or Nikon?

As much as everyone here agrees that Canon > Nikon -- it makes no difference to someone as a photographer which of the two they pick, and it infers that one is 'better' when it isn't much of a difference between them and both are good cameras. I just hate having to answer the stupid question.

I see nothing wrong with that. People who are passionate about their work tend to produce better results than those who just do it for the check at the end of the week.

Also, according to your site: "I am devoted to capturing the joy of your wedding and providing you with a lifetime of wonderful memories." No offence, but to some, that sounds just as silly and artificial as saying you're passionate.

Bull****, I'm passionate about getting that check.

I didn't understand it for a long time, either, but it means a part of the image at 100% resolution, not 100% size, so others can comment on sharpness, etc. Easier to share than a huge full file.

Oh, I understand what it means, and what it's for.

My issue with it has always been that sharpness matters really only as you see the photo, not a small portion of it. Not too many people look at a picture with a loupe.

If my photos are sharp when viewed normally, whether or not they can get picked apart in a 100% crop is pretty meaningless...

...but "gripped" is nothing but showing off. Very weak showing off at that, considering the availability of $40 eBay grips.

As someone with three gripped bodies, how so?

I don't think it is an issue with the grips, it's when you see posts along the lines of "I took this with my "gripped 60D" or "So I pulled out my gripped 7D" that I tend to thing they are pretentious w****rs.

To be honest when I see the term "Gripped whatever" I usually think "By whom?"

PS when someone asks me the time I don't say my Breitling says it is 23:57 hrs :-)

Oh.

I've never said I've taken a photo with my "gripped 5D", I say I took it with my 5D. I just list it in my gear listing. To be honest, I don't know that I've seen someone say they've taken a photo with a "gripped" anything. Not saying it doesn't happen, just saying I've never seen it.

And I can't tell anyone what time it is by looking at my Breitling. I sold it after I bought my Omega Planet Ocean 45!

;)
