First, am I the only one gettin' a kick outta' the fact that it was the thread starter who revived this after almost four years?
I noticed that too.

It is a german word......it should stay safely hidden away in Germany and never be used in the english language. It just has a really dumb, out-of-place sound to it when used in english. "Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.

It is not a proper form of the word, when used to describe photography equipment. "Gear" is the proper term, as it encompasses a collection of gear, and does not need to be "pluralized" in such an uneducated manner. My gears: "Be seeing you."
