Here in Massachusetts we are digging out from the latest blizzard. Just before the sun set, I spotted this mourning dove huddled in snow on a pine tree branch. I hope she found somewhere cozy to roost tonight!

Shot using a 7D, 6400 ISO at f/5.6, 1/80 sec. Lens was a Canon 57-300mm at 300mm. PP in DPP to adjust color balance, PS CS5 for cropping and curves, and Topaz Denoise. C&C welcomed.

not bad for 6400, a little noisy but not bad. I think your slow speed added some blur to it but I guess the snow was coming down too. I hope you don't get too much more, you guys are getting hammered this year!

Thanks. Yeah, the light was awful all day - heavily overcast and blowing snow. The blurred pine needles are in the foreground - I think I got the dove in focus OK. Given the low light and the slow f/5.6 lens, I was lucky to get this one shot in. The dove kept grooming, and any movement caused blur of the subject. Plus it was windy. Not my best bird photo by far, but it was the best I could get under the conditions.
