You lose autofocus so I'd think it would be waste of time and money. If you had some old manual focus Nikkor lenses it might be worthwhile, or if you REALLY wanted to use the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 on your Canon body.

I recently purchased a Fotdiox that adapted by Nikon lens to my 7d. As I recall they have a cheap one and a high dollar one. I bought the middle which was in the $70 range. It works great on the lens and the camera. It took a bit to get it all figured out. There is a little tab that you must depress to get it to release. I am happy with it.

I actually don't have any. I ran a few test the day I got it just to check it out and everything looked ok. My lens are old Nikon lens I had back from years ago and I was interested in using them this summer. All I can really tell you is the fit is tight and there is no play between the lens and camera. I was interested in adding my old Nikon primes in case I wanted to use them, and you do lose the auto focus but my lens are manual anyway.

Silly to buy a Sigma lens that is Nikon mount and adapt it. Now, if you were asking about Nikon lenses - different story. Look at my gear list for ideas.

If the lens doesn't have a manual aperture control ring, I think you'll also not be able to stop it down without a rather fiddly process involving the depth of field preview.

The best lenses to adapt are ones where you also can control the aperture manually.

The big benefit for me is that I am able to use hundreds of dollars of prime lens that were sitting on the shelf

Yeah the Novoflex adaptor as pretty as it is (and ALL of Novoflex's products are VERY pretty) is the same thing as a cheapie one... it doesn't have communication.

You want the 16x9 Nikon G adaptor... about $300 if I remember correctly. Its the only one that lets you use AF.

You'll have AF confirm but, no autofocus. It's easy to MF in LV.
