I currently have iPhoto, Aperture and Photoshop. I used these for my post processing.

Are there any apps on the Mac that you know of that I can use to QUICKLY crop, do basic edits (brightness, saturation, contrast, etc), etc... without launching one of these other applications?

Are you saying Aperture is too slow, or what?

One quick way would be to open the files in Adobe Camera Raw from Photoshop Bridge -- it's a plugin so can be a quick in-and-out from Bridge and has all those basic tools. For jpegs you select then right-click and Open in Camera Raw.

You can do a few minor things in Preview (I use it if I need to crop something quickly). It has adjusters for levels, exposure, contrast, saturation, color temperature, color tint, sepia (no clue why, but it's there), and sharpness. You can also crop and resize. It's nothing spectacular, but the program opens quickly and is okay for quick fixes for JPG, PNG, etc.

Take a look at Graphic Converter and see what you think (costs around $35.00), and has been called "The Poor Man's PhotoShop" for many years.
