Hi All,
I'm using 17-40 with my T2i/550D as walk around. If any wide prime (no L or EF-S) has better IQ than 17-40?

Wide on crop = ultra-wide on FF, so you'll have to find (and pay appropriately for) an ultra-wide prime, and therefore it's also unlikely to be very fast. (Well, there is the 15FE, but I assume you don't want a fish-eye.) Long hard thinking about a fisheye already. Sigma or Canon fisheye on the crop maybe a good option too. Seem Linkzi Sigma 8mm with 40D here: Linkzi wrote in post #5721988 Just aquired one, all photos have been PP'd to my taste. The aerial shots had the rotorblades cloned out. Taken with 40D. This is cropped.  This is without hood.  This is with hood.  It is very W I D E ! 8mm is most likely too much as walk-around.
