I have had my T2i for almost a month now and I already passed 4k shutter clicks...

I know I will probably slow down with time but I still use it for work (video primarily) so it will still be getting a good amount of use. How much do you all generally shoot in a month?

That sounds about right, I've had my T2i for about a month now and so far made about 3000 shutter clicks.

But then again I use it for stop frame animation too! So maybe your 4000 clicks is a bit much? ;)

I do about 4k-5k clicks a month on average.

Wow! That's plenty (I think!). Quite interested in what the user average is, Let's hear some more responses! :)

I'm sort of picky about what I take pictures of. I'll look for something interesting, take a shot, make adjustments, take another. On the upside, I'm probably only taking about 1-2k month... on the downside I'm probably missing a lot of great shots :D

Just befroe the warranty expired (at 11 months old) I sent in one of my 20D. Canon say it had 125K clicks, they replaced the shutter. Sent in my other 20D, also at 11 months, they said 130K clicks. Also got a new shutter.

That shutter button is kind of touchy on the 7D. After a few months you learn to only take one click at a time, unless your intention is rapid fire.

when i first got into photography up until about a year ago I was pretty trigger happy.

Slowed down a lot in recent months and im a lot more picky about what I shoot.

Went for a walk at the weekend came back with maybe 80 shots? might be less I think.

Dang.. some trigger happy folks out there. Gasrocks, how the heck do you all process all those pics. Just doing the math that's 11818 pictures a month, or 394 pictures a day, or 24.6 pictures an hour, or about 1 picture every 30 seconds assuming that you get your 8 hours of sleep your mama told you to get.

I'm a lightweight compared to you guys. For work I have about 2 photo shoots a month and each photo shoot might generate between 50~100 pictures. For fun my 14 month old 7D has 2114 pics and my 7 month old 5D has 1677.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

How many pictures would you take if you fond yourself in the right place at the right time, with the best/right equipment, and you knew what you were doing is right? My record for one day, 6 hours actually, is 8650. Yes, I am very efficient at editing. Have to be. But, now, I have slowed down and barely amange to shoot 5K a month.

I'll do anywhere from 1k-2k at one event, depending on length and size.
