Hmmm... Both were shot at slow shutter speeds in conjunction with their focul lengths. I have a ton more to go through as does Bry... Ill have a bunch more tomorrow.

Looks OOF, What was the focus point? Here Boob where the square stitching is in focus right at the catch light, and her knee is as well. Her eyes are not. I think you must be shooting with the aperture open pretty good, DOF is pretty thin in this image. Since you are using flash why is the Aperture @ 2.8?

look at her foot closest the the camera you can see the transition in DOF from her heel to the toe DOF is less than 6" or so. I say if you shot her at f5.6 she would be lot sharper, you need to bump the lights up 2 stops and would have the same image but her entire body would be in focus.

At 1/200th I dont think it is any motion blur it is all dof causing oof, imo.

Please dont take what I say personal, it is just my observation.

My attempt to fix oof

I am not saying my attempt to fix oof is good. The changes are very subtle. Look at the front and back foot in the top image. Both feet are in focus now (see the big toe nail on her right foot). Her eyes look more in focus on my monitor but no so much when I upload to flickr. Here back hand is more in focus, all in all she looks more in focus to me.

My changes did change the skin tone. My monitor calibration is different than yours it seems. Look at the vase detail in the back ground, the gold on the center piece, even the detail on the left vase is in focus.

Remember I was working on a Jpeg so I have very limited tools in which to manipulate the image, I did create some artifacts on her thigh. In raw I dont have that kind of Issue, it is all uncompressed.

I will delete the image off my server after you see what I did, then I will delete your image off my hard drive. I just wanted to show you what I was talking about. AKf

Btw, Grain will help make an image look sharp, Hint, hint

strobing with bokeh is an awesome way to shoot. I love the background seperation from it. Surenthe image maybe a bit soft but its just a personal preference. Those images are pretty much untouched and unsharpened
