IMO, good glass on a weak body is still loads better than fair glass on a good body. I'd hold onto the lens and use the 20d until you can afford to upgrade.

That's gonna be pretty limiting in what you can shoot, isn't it? Going from a fairly solid range, down to nothing longer than 50mm, I think you'd regret that unless you only shoot landscape and architecture...

Well that's the thing. I only really do landscape and architecture however I do love to shoot wild life when I get the chance.. Idk. Thanks for all the advice though.

I wouldn't. Good glass is better then a good body. With landscape and architecture the 7D isn't going to do anything your camera cant do.

What is it about the 7D that you really want?
Would you consider a used 40D or 50D? Might be able to keep the 70-200 & still get a bit of a body upgrade.

I'd keep the 70-200mm IS, you got a once in a life time deal.

Sell it...to me.
I'll give you $250 for it - $300 if it's a 2.8

Nothing wrong with the 20D/EF 70-200mm f/2.8 combination.. This combination was my work horse when I worked for a newspaper, although I also had a 1D MkII..

I recommend you save your pennies for a 7D and hang onto the 70-200mm..

I can forecast the future.. You'll sell the 70-200, buy a 7D and instantly miss the 70-200mm..
