Hi POTN,

I'm looking to make my methods of delivering digital files look more fancy and professional, I was burning a bunch of finished files onto a CD for a job I've just done and I wasn't that thrilled with my jewel case and and inserts. Though I'm not big name yet and don't need fancy packaging I would like to try to make myself look as good as I personally can at the moment.

It would be really cool to see how other people here deliver their files to clients and stuff like that. How do you make sure they've got your details too? I've been putting a business card in my cases but that's probably only temorary. I was thinking about leaving a file on the CD with my details or just printing it onto one of my inserts.

We don't have to be restricted to CD/DVDs here either, any creative ways to pass on digital files to clients would be really cool to hear about.
PS. What do you name your CDs?

That USB this is a wicked idea! There's other really rad stuff on that site, really nice. I was thinking about putting it in a DVD case or something, depending on price. Is that what you mean? DVD + DVD Case?

USB Business Card in presentation box or leather holder and a DVD with printed label or printed directly on disc with DVD slimline case with custom designed cover.

I will admit that it is nice to deliver your images in a quality fashion. In reality though you have their business and it is the quality of the images themselves not the delivery that is going to get your their referrals or their repeat business.

I don't go to much in the way of fancy delivery other than to print a custom label for the CD or DVD I may give them. I tend to want to use any monies that I could spend on fancy delivery on advertising or promotions.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

I investigated flash drives, but concluded that they're not yet optimum primarily because of the lack of data security. Not only are they too easily erased, but much worse: They can be written to. When I shoot, say, a high school senior, I can expect the flash drive to be put into many different computers. I don't want a flash drive with my logo on it becoming a Typhoid Mary.

Moreover, with a custom printed CD label, I get a lot more than just my logo--I get my logo large with full contact information.

At this point, I'm custom printing inkjet-printable DVDs for personal commission customers and normally use ftp for commercial customers.

Most photo labs offer custom dvd/cd cases and custom printed cds. You can expect to pay about $32 for something like this: http://acilab.com/_img/rotator/rot_cddvd.jpg (external link) with the double holder.

A more pricey option is to offer a custom image box wit reference prints and just put a cd hub on the inside of the box.
