36" from the wall, translucent difflector, hooded diffuser.

does this look like a normal spread for a strip light?

Looks normal to me, even the 9x36 visico has almost the same spread. The Visico does come with a grid that cut the spread down alot.

Yup, that's how my 14x35 looks also although I don't have the hooded diffuser which, IMHO, doesn't really do much by itself.

looks normal to what ive seen
*edit*
oops, hooded diffuser! havent got one of them yet, but, yes based on what ive seen it looks right. I was going to get some of the hooded diffusers but based on my research it didnt seem to help all that much. Looking to get or make a dyi grid now

Alright, thanks guys.

I think one of the things the hooded diffuser offers is the front edge can act as a flag. I'm going to do a comparison over the weekend with the front diffuser.

I decided to use this winter to get into studio lighting with a portable set up. Spending time comparing different modifiers and set ups.

Thanks for any and all input.

All of these taken at 16" from wall. The angled shots were done at the same light stand location.

Set 1 L) Hood and Deflector R) Hood Only
