Big ship at sunset...

Was out for a stroll with a friend and saw this...I know, the boat itself is underexposed, I was aiming for a sunset. I kind of like the mysterious bit...what do you guys think? Does it work? Should I bump the exposure on the boat a bit? What do you think of the pic?

I like it, & don't think there's anything interesting we'd need to see in the boat if it were brighter? Mysterious works. So would be just a tiny bit brighter, so whatever works for you.

Interesting composition and given your purpose to focus on the sunset I'd say your exposure setting worked well.

Agreed, looks great the way it is. If you wanted to make the boat the focus and not the sunset, then you'd have a great candidate for an HDR or other exposure-stacking situation.

Wow, thanks very much for all the comments! I really appreciate them...it's funny, sometimes I think I have a great shot and I'm alone in it, other times I think I have a so-so shot and people like it the way it is...this is why I love this board Thanks again...

Ken: that's awesome...looks like a good day for shooting today! I'm shipping out for Japan in about a month and going to be spending a lot of time in Nanaimo, but I'm always up for meeting new people if you're bored one day haha
