I took this photo 30 years ago while traveling Europe on a school trip. It was originally a slide. I recently had it scanned at Walmart and I 've tweaked it a little in a photo editor. I like it but I'm not sure if it's just me or if it has merits as a photo. What do you think?

Hello fishbio. That's a neat setting. Respectfully, I think this photo is just fine for bringing back memories of your trip (I am jealous), but I don't think it's going to make it technically. The focus is on the tree trunk, bottom right, leaving the rest in a blur (I realize that the original slide must look some better). I think you would be hard pressed to recover this one. A crop and some work on shading help (more could be done than my quick and very dirty edit - which didn't transfer with quite as much brightness as it should have...), but progress is severely limited by the original information available in the photo. Keep it as a memory - it's a good one.

Sweet travels... I thinks its cool that two different people had the same perceptive, and thought to snap it.

Thought this would be a nice way to showcase your photo.... I love the original tho'... Memories are lovely... love how it draws the eye along the walkway, making you wonder what it was like when first built, who walked along that path ....

Thanks for the comments and edits, everyone. A special thanks to focus.pocus for identifying the place. I think it's pretty neat that we took the same photo nearly 30 years apart! I was a young man just out of high school when I was fortunate enough to travel through Europe for two weeks. We saw several castles and they've all run together in my mind! I guess I wasn't paying enough attention to where I was!
