G3 + 420EX help...not working! What did I do?!

Yes, no kidding, they convinced me it was my camera, even when it didn't work well on new in store cameras (two different stores!). They sent both the flash and the camera in to repair, and it came back working. That's what get me on the "actual repair section" - repair to G.W.O. There is really no telling what they repaired. But they got my $205.00.

I am experiencing the same thing with my G6. I find that when I use manual settings, I can actually get the flash to behave like I would expect it to. Also, I found that in P mode, when I set slow synchro to on, the flash works like it should.

When I first bought my flash, it worked fine. Then one day, it just started acting up like yours is. Currently, I just use Manual mode when using the external flash since none of the creative modes seem to be working properly with the external flash anymore.

Also, when I use manual settings, it works fine. One thing I just noticed is that the Flash Exposure Confirmation light never comes on. I think that this would suggest that there is something wrong with my flash...

Kim, have you checked if your FEC is not set too low and if your AE is not set too low as well?
