Hey there everybody! I just got my new CPL and noticed something once I mounted it. This is my first CPL and I have never had experience with one before. I noticed that when I rotate it, the part you rotate (surrounds the glass) comes out a tiny bit and then goes back in when I push it back. It rotates smoothly, but I am just wondering if this happens to all CPLs?

I managed to get a video of this:

I've just tried both my B+W CPL's (77 and 72mm) and neither of them have any obvious front/back movement.

Danny sent me this short clip he made (hopefully he won't mind me passing it on). I've pulled and twisted the two CPL's I've got and can't replicate what the clip shows so, if it's normal, it maybe that the construction is now somehow different?

Yea I'm really trying to find out if this is an issue for the majority. If it is then I might as well keep it and not exchange it.

Doesn't do it on my slim 77 and 82 Kasrm's but does it on my 67 F-Pro. I never noticed it til now.

If you do an exchange, get the Kasserman version, it's sealed and I'm sure won't have the same issue.

As stated above, my 67 F-Pro does it and I've never noticed it.

I have the Kaesemann and it does it. It would be a bother if it, or any CPL for that matter, allowed the two glass plates to separate. Though the rings on the filters allow some play the glass plates do not.
