NinetyEight "Banned for life" More info | Jan 15, 2011 07:30 | #2 A lot of 'old' Sigma lenses refused to work with more modern DSLR's - What the problem was/is I'm not sure, but if it's a general communication problem, I doubt the camera will recognise the lens and probably won't operate the aperture/iris. If it's just AF then you will probably be OK. Kev

I had an older (circa 1996) Sigma 400mm lens. It worked fine in full manual mode except no control over anything (including aperture). So, was always shooting with the lens full-open, manual focus. I sold that lens and purchased the much newer Sigma 150-500mm. DreDaze happy with myself for not saying anything stupid More info | Jan 15, 2011 11:43 | #4 i always thought i read that you could still use the lenses wide-open...but that's it...so if it's like a sigma 50mm f2.8 you can use it perfectly fine at f2.8, or a 400mm f5.6 will AF and everything at f5.6...anything else will give an error code.. Andre or Dre
